Music and Performance

Flint Local 432

Flint Local 432 is one of the longest-running all-ages venues in the country, having hosted thousands of bands since its start over three decades ago. We are a program of Red Ink Flint, a youth focused non-profit that provides access to the arts and other activities in downtown Flint. We are most proud of being there to help at the beginning of the careers of local bands who successfully transition to national touring acts, like Chiodos, The Swellers, and Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate).

Flint Institute of Music

We believe in the power of the performing arts to bring us together as a community, inspire the next generation, and engage us with important issues and each other.  The completed consolidation of the Capitol Theatre and Whiting Auditorium is cause to celebrate an exciting future that will extend our reach to generations of new audiences. As a powerful engine for civic change, we are leveraging our diverse offerings in a spirit of collaboration, creative exchange, and inclusiveness.
